RESUMEN (ABSTRACT)
"This work was undertaken with the purpose of developing a system that allows the use of biocharcoal in biodigesters to increase the production and quality of biog‡s. The study was done in the department of biological and agricultural engineering center at the University of Georgia. Following 4 treatments (T0 0% ch, T1 0%ch + Inoculum, T2 2.5% ch + inoculum, T3 5% ch + inoculum) using two mixtures substrate since 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, betwen cow manure and poultry liter and 1 repetition for each treatment. There was an increase of 138% in the production of biog‡s and 471% in methane production with the addition of 5% charcoal using poultry litter as substrate. Also in cow manure as substrate increase was 292% in the production of biog‡s and 176% in methane production with addition of 2.5% charcoal. Organic matter was significantly reduced by 87% in T3 poultry litter and 95% T3 cow manure. using Hach COD reactor to analize organic mater degradation."
